FAQ#
Getting started#
How do I get started?#
Sign up at app.pilotposter.com, install the Chrome extension, fetch your groups, and create a campaign. The whole setup takes about 10 minutes. See the Quickstart guide.
Do I need a credit card?#
Check app.pilotposter.com for current trial terms. A free trial is available for new accounts.
What browsers are supported?#
Google Chrome is required. The extension posts to Facebook from your browser. Other Chromium browsers may work but are not officially supported.
Do I need to be a group admin?#
No. You need to be a member of the groups you want to post in. Admin access is not required, though some groups require admin approval before posts appear.
Extension and posting#
Why is the extension not detected?#
Confirm it is installed and enabled at chrome://extensions. If it is missing, install it from the Chrome Web Store. Refresh the dashboard, and make sure you are using Chrome. See Chrome Extension.
Do I need to keep Chrome open?#
Yes. The extension only runs while Chrome is open and you are logged into Facebook. Closing Chrome pauses all campaign execution.
Can I post to my Facebook profile?#
Yes. Some campaigns support profile posting instead of group posting. Select profile as the target in the Groups step.
Why did my post fail?#
Check Logs for the error message. Common causes: extension offline, Facebook login expired, rate limiting, or group approval required. See Logs and Troubleshooting.
Content and features#
What is spintax?#
Spintax lets you write {option A|option B} in your post text. PilotPoster picks a random option for each group. See Spintax.
What is Pro AI?#
Pro AI rewrites your post text uniquely for each group using AI. Requires a Pro AI subscription. See AI Customization.
Can I post images and videos?#
Yes. Upload to the Media Library and attach up to 7 files per post. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, MP4, MOV, AVI. See Media Uploads.
How do RSS campaigns work?#
Add an RSS feed URL, select groups, and PilotPoster posts new feed items automatically. See RSS Campaigns.
Account safety#
Is automated posting safe for my Facebook account?#
It can be, if you follow best practices: use sleep intervals between posts, start with small group counts, vary content with spintax, and increase volume gradually. See Account Safety.
What happens if Facebook restricts my account?#
Stop all campaigns, wait 48 to 72 hours, then resume with fewer groups and longer sleep intervals.
Billing#
What plans are available?#
Pro (monthly or yearly) covers group posting, scheduling, RSS, spintax, and related features. Pro AI adds Auto AI posting and per-group AI text customization. See Billing for current pricing.
How do I cancel?#
Go to Billing in the dashboard and manage your subscription from there.
Data and privacy#
What data does PilotPoster access?#
PilotPoster uses your Facebook session to post to groups you select. It fetches your group list and executes post commands. It does not access private messages or groups you have not selected.
Can I use multiple Facebook accounts?#
Currently one Facebook account per PilotPoster account. Multi-account support is on the roadmap.
