Media Uploads#
PilotPoster supports images and videos in scheduled campaigns. Upload files to the Media Library first, then attach them when creating a campaign.
Supported formats#
| Type | Formats |
|---|---|
| Images | JPG, PNG |
| Videos | MP4, MOV, AVI |
Upload to Media Library#
- Go to Media Library in the dashboard
- Click Upload
- Select one or more files
- Files appear in your library for use in any campaign
Attach to campaigns#
In the campaign wizard Content step, select media from your library. You can attach up to 7 files per post.
PilotPoster auto-detects whether each file is an image or video and handles the upload accordingly.
How uploads work#
When a campaign executes:
- Extension receives the post command with media URLs
- For images: uploads to Facebook CDN, gets photo IDs, creates the post
- For videos: gets upload URLs, uploads in chunks, gets video IDs, creates the post
- For mixed media: combines photos and videos in a single post
Video uploads use chunked upload for large files. This may take longer than image-only posts.
Link previews#
If your post text contains a URL and you do not attach media, Facebook may generate an automatic link preview card. This works for text-only posts with links.
Attaching your own images overrides the link preview.
File size limits#
PilotPoster follows Facebook's own limits for media uploads. Very large video files may take longer to upload or fail if they exceed Facebook's maximum size.
If a video upload fails, check the file size and format, then try a shorter or compressed version.
Tips#
- Upload media before creating campaigns so it is ready to attach
- Use JPG for photos (smaller file size than PNG)
- Compress long videos before uploading
- Test a single-group campaign with media before posting to many groups
- Image-only posts upload faster than video posts
